Peacock Man (2026)

  • Dimensions: 130×105×45 cm

  • Materials: Plaster with polyester wool fibre, steel rods, recycled aluminium offset printing plates, chrome paint

  • The Concept An investigation into the psychological weight of identity, exposure, and aging. The sculpture captures the quiet, crestfallen vulnerability of an aging male life model who has transitioned from a life of structure to standing completely exposed before a room of artists. Rather than acting as a protective shield, the massive, radiating backdrop of stylised feathers serves to elevate the figure, bestowing an overwhelming majesty and presence upon an aging body.

  • The Material Friction The artwork thrives on a stark friction between its materials and textures. The central figure is hand-sculpted from raw, roughly textured plaster mixed with polyester wool fibres, creating a surface that conveys human fragility and a lived life. In contrast, the majestic 1.3-meter tail introduces a modern, calculated geometry constructed from cleaned, recycled offset printing plates. As light dances across the shimmering surface of the aluminium, it contrasts with the matte weight of the plaster, permanently capturing an intimate moment of vulnerability with quiet dignity.
